Adopt the Data Centric to Protect Intellectual Property
Once a new business model has been established to protect the intellectual property, a data governance can be set up.
Of course, the governance must be applied to maintain the trust among partners by tracing and recording communications.

With the data governance in place, it becomes possible to move the company from a Documents Centric organization to a Data Centric organization.
This Data Centric organization ensures all parties to share only the data they should , use common data , and have a continuously updated data.

Once all the partners feel comfortable with the business model and Data Governance, the technical Digitalization Process can start.
Each partner is well aware of the value creation and of his commitment to convert the collective intelligence into value.

Top-Down defines the digital twin of the whole plant. Highly technical and capital intensive, this approach involves the players in a risky approach.
Bottom-Up is pragmatic and develops the digital twin item by item. The first item simply involves 3 or 5 different companies. When achieved, it can be copied/pasted to the next level generating quick wins at low risk.
